The Way We Were In The 7o's
It's obvious to say that I certainly got loads of memorabilia of the 70's era specially in the late 70's wherein it was my growing up years. Those were my teenage happy goody days. Fun and lots of fun! I had so may vivid fond memories of this decade that until now I can still recall my high school days. he way I'm now, my attitude, my taste, my moods, my beliefs has a complete attribution to what I have witnessed and seen in the 70's. Indeed it has a very big influence to my growing up, to the society and culture I was brought up. It was a complete transformation process for me from my childhood days in the early 70's, to my teeange years in the late 70's to early 80's. So you can perhaps imagine the great impact of this famous decade on me. My eyes had witnessed the different events, the fabulous music and fashion of this decade that whenever I play the music of the seventies, makes me feel sweet sixteen again! Remember the song that we played when we fell in love for the first time? This page will take you for a journey through complicated times. It was a roller coaster ride to the seventies where a lot of historical events has highlighted it. To some it was a bumpy ride for them, while for others it was a smooth exploration of freedom It was an era of diversity and change. It saw the UK join the common market, the scandal of the Watergate which shocked the US, a more advance in the space development, it was the beginning of the real computer age, to top it all it was a positive decade ending the Vietnam War. As a young girl in the early 70's, how I was anxious to wear those mini skirt and clogs as a famous fashion even in my own country, The Philippines, but my mother won't let me indulge in those fashion, still as a child I need to wear those kiddy stuff! She said wait for few more years ! I have my first real taste of the baggy pants in the late 70's. Wow it was great! Dancing to the tune of Disco Inferno and Saturday Night Fever... The seventies tune will always live with us, always there to remind us of the people, the places, and the events of the 70's. From Simon and Garfunkel, Carpenters, David Cassidy,
Andy Williams, Neil Diamond, The Osmonds, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Jim Croche, America, Don Mclean, Seals and Croft, Mamas and Papas, Hair, Rolling Stones, Bread, Chicago, Tom Jones, John Denver, The Beatles, The Queen, The Jacksons, Roberta Flack, Olivia Newton John, Rod Stewart, Bee Gees, Blondie, The Three Degrees, Diana Ross, Gloria Gaynor, Barry Manilow, Elton John, Barbara Streisand, The Commodores, Kenny Rogers, Earth, Wind and Fire, Abba, Village People and a lot more.... Even as a kid in the 70's, I love watching news specially the foreign edition, watching it every night to see what was going on around the globe has given me a complete insight of the entire 70's. From the famous global leaders that headlined the daily evening news to the latest movies. I can still recall our first black and white television at home. I first saw the famous Chinese leader Mao Tse-tung founder of the Chinese Communist Party on the tele. Until the late 1977.. 1978, when I saw the famous film "Saturday Night Fever" with my school mates. Since that day I became an avid fan of the Bee Gees music.
